The ambo holds the Scriptures for the Liturgy of the Word. The front of the ambo displays the Chi-Rho symbol, signifying the crucifixion of Jesus and his resurrection. This ties together with the central theme of the retablo. In the middle of the Chi-Rho is a relief of the Gospel. There will be a verse from the Gospel inscribed into the open pages. That verse was decided by Fr. Alex and Mgr. McCormick to be “Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” Mt 4:4. On either side of the ambo will be carved angels with horns, signifying the announcement of the Word. The cantor stand in the center will be adjustable and there will be a child stand that can be lowered.
